Manual Product Categorization

In case you have unchecked the manage category option in General settings, the Manage Category Page will display a list of all categories existing in your system, along with their sub-categories. Here, you can add new categories and sub-categories that will be used with your products. In addition, you can also edit, add images, and delete required categories, and their sub parts.

What is the difference between Manual and Automatic Categorization ?

In manual categorization, the user can create their own custom category and edit its details such as image, category name, subcategories, etc. while in automatic categorization, the categories are prefilled from the Jd Library based on the products entered into the system.

Add New Category

In case the list of categories and sub-categories available on the page does not match with your products, you can add new category from this module.


1. From the Homepage, click on Products.

2. On the Products landing page, click on Manage Category.

3. A list of all categories will be displayed. Toggle the Manual Categorization slider ON if it is OFF.

4. Click on Add New Category.

5. Enter a category name and click on Save.

6. The following options are displayed:

  • Add Sub Category: Lets you to add subcategory to the main category.
  • Edit: Lets you to edit the category or the subcategory fields.
  • Hide: Enables you to hide the associated category from the webstore.
  • Filters: On clicking a slider menu opens up from which you can filter items based on their brand, variants, manufacturer, pricing, etc.
  • SEO: Lets you determine ideal keyword search so that the products maintain an online visibility on the webstore.
  • Delete: Lets you to delete a particular category or subcategory.

 

7. You can also add images for a particular category or subcategory by clicking on Add, on the image icon.

The following pop up window will be displayed, with the following options. Click on Save to update the changes made.

  • Upload Image: Enables you to upload an image  from your computer.
  • Add Image from URL: Enables you to paste the web link, containing the image.
  • Add from Library: Enables you to choose an image from the Jd library.

Important Note
This category will not be visible on your web store unless a product is added/associated to this category.

8. Click on Add Sub Category, if you want add a subcategory to the main category. The following options will be displayed.

Enter the category name in the Enter Sub Category section and add an image as per your requirement. Once created, the sub category will look as follows.

You can add multiple sub-categories to a category.

9. You can hide a specific category or sub category from your website by clicking on Hide</strong.

The following pop-up will be displayed.

You can choose whether you want to hide the associated products or not by enabling or disabling Hide Products associated with this category option.

10. Click on Hide Category and you will receive the following message on your screen.

If you want to unhide the category, click on Show

11. You to add/edit the filters for the categories that are visible on your website as follows.

12. Click on Filters.

The following slider will be displayed.

13. Click on Add New Filter and the following slider will be displayed.

14. Enter the filter name and click on Save

15. Click on  and the following options will be displayed.

Edit: You can edit the filter name.
Hide: Allows you to hide the filter
Delete: You can delete the filter with this option.

You can rearrange the filter order by dragging the .

16. SEO plays an important role when it comes to online visibility. You can add SEO to your categories and subcategories by clicking on SEO.

The following slider will be displayed.

1. Enter the page title which will appear on the Search Engine when user searches for your products.
2. Enter a brief description for the page which will give the customer some information about the website without having to click on the website link.
3. Enter relevant keywords for the page which you think customers might use while searching for your product.
4. You can see a preview of how your website result will look on Google.

Click on Save once you have made the necessary changes.

17. Double click on the category name to view the products associated with it.

18. You can add multiple display categories for a product by clicking on Add Another Display Category.

19. Click on the drop-down option to change an existing product category.

You can also add new categories by clicking on Add New Category.

20. If you want to delete a product, click on and the category will be deleted.

Click on Update All to save the changes.


Note

You can change the category of multiple products simultaneously by selecting the product by clicking on the check box next to it.

Once you have selected all the products click on Change Category.

Enter the Product Type and select the relevant option from the options in the drop-down.

Select the Action Type and the following options will be displayed.

Add/Remove will display the following options.

Enter the Display Categories which you want to add and remove the product from in the respective fields.

Set To will display the following options.

Enter the display category for the product.

1. From the Homepage, tap on Products.

2. Tap on Manage Category.

The following page gets displayed.

3. Tap on Add New Category.

The following page gets displayed.

4. Tap on Add Parent Category.

5. Enter the category name and tap on Save.

6. If you want to add image to the category tap on the image icon.

You will receive the following options.

Gallery: You can upload an image from your device.
Camera: This will open your device camera and you can click a picture to upload.
Library: You can add images from Omni Websites database by searching with the relevant keywords.
URL: This option allows you to add images from the internet by adding its URL.

Once you have added the category name and images, it will look as follows.


Important Note
This category will not be visible on your web store unless a product is added/associated to this category.

7. To add a sub-category, tap on > Add Child.

8. Enter the category name and add an image as per your requirement. Click on Save to update the changes made.

Once created, the sub category will look as follows.


Note
You can add multiple sub-categories to a category.

9. You can hide a specific category or sub category from your website by tapping on Hide.

The following pop-up will be displayed.

Note

You can view the products associated with that category by double clicking on the category. The following page will be displayed.

You can edit the product by tapping on that product name. You cannot edit products that have variants.

Update Category

You can made changes in the categories which have been already created by you.


1. From the Homepage, click on Products.

2. On the Products landing page, click on Manage Category.

3. Click on Manage Category. The following page will be displayed.

4. Click on the category name which you want to edit and the following options will be displayed.

5. Click on Edit and you will receive the following options.

You can edit the category name and click on Save.

Similarly you can edit the filters, SEO keywords etc from this page.

1. From the Homepage, tap on Products.

2. Tap on Manage Category.

The following page gets displayed.

3. If you want to update a category, tap on Edit.

4. Now you can edit the category name and images and tap on Save.

Similarly you can edit the filters, SEO keywords etc from this page.

Delete Categories

The Manage Product Category page allows you to delete any unwanted category/sub-category that is not required to be displayed on the webstore.


Important Note
In case you delete a category/sub-category that contains products that are associated to it, all these products will be moved to the Other category.

1. From the Homepage, click on Products.

2. On the Products landing page, click on Manage Category.

3. Click on Manage Category. The following page will be displayed.

4. Click on the category name which you want to delete and the following options will be displayed.

5. Click on Delete and you will receive the following pop-up.

Click on Delete and the category will be deleted.

1. From the Homepage, tap on Products.

2. Tap on Manage Category.

The following page gets displayed.

3. To delete a category, tap on Delete.

4. A Delete Category window appears, tap on Delete to complete the process.


Important Note

On deleting categories, its sub categories associated with it will also gets deleted.
